Aurora project timelines range from just a few days for Aurora DIY to a few weeks for Aurora + Onboarding. Full Migrations may take up to a few months, depending upon migration scope.
Long-term Hosting, Maintenance, and Support packages are required, and begin after Aurora installations are complete.

One-Time Costs

Aurora DIY
Cost: $12,000
This option is both quick and inexpensive, but it does require you to configure the site on your own, take a DIY approach to learning Islandora, and migrate your own content. We set up the server, do the install, and turn over the keys! Delivery of the DIY package usually takes about a week, so you can be up and running as soon as possible.
Includes:
• Basic Aurora site installation
• Project kickoff meeting and orientation
• Server provisioning and delivery meeting
• Annotated metadata template pre-populated with field labels and helpful instructions

Aurora + Onboarding
Cost: $32,000
Most clients prefer our Onboarding services option, which efficiently delivers the tools and training that content administrators need to confidently utilize Islandora and migrate their own collections. This option usually takes about three weeks from start to finish.
Includes everything under Aurora DIY plus:
• Site configuration consultation for basic configuration (site colors, logos, and fonts)
• Analysis of your metadata and suggested mapping to the Aurora default metadata fields
• Up to five additional custom metadata field configurations to better fit your data
• One-on-one content administration training

Add-on: Full Migration
Cost: requires estimation (request form)
Our "Full Migration" add-on for the “Aurora + Onboarding” package is best for clients who want us to handle all the details of migrating from their legacy systems.
Migration projects have variable timelines. Timelines for content export, metadata cleanup, and migration depend upon collection size and complexity.
Includes:
• Metadata export from existing system(s)
• Bulk Ingest Formatting and Ingest Cleanup
• Content Migration of exported and cleaned content into new repository
Ongoing Services
For one flat monthly fee, each Aurora client receives maintenance, support, and hosting.
We are always improving Aurora: ongoing updates are always included in our hosting package, and will roll out with scheduled site maintenance.
Monthly Security Updates to Drupal and Islandora modules, as well as Docker images

Hosting Costs
Each Aurora Maintenance, Support, and Hosting agreement includes hosting services for a single production environment, and ephemeral “Review Environments” as needed. These environments all exist in an Amazon Web Services account owned and managed by Born-Digital.
Born-Digital does not make any specific uptime or performance commitments for these hosted Islandora environments, but similar systems running for existing clients have historically achieved 99.95% uptime including planned maintenance windows.
